If lately I did not mention anything about Polyvore over here, it was because I did not get a chance to be as active as I used to be. That is about to change, I feel like my inspiration is back and I cannot wait to make new sets and join new contests.
I don’t know if having 6300 Polyvore followers means anything to other people, but for me it was a big surprise and seeing that my style could inspire others made me feel proud of myself. All my sets, collections and items managed to get over 49000 likes, and these numbers just make me want to get better at making sets and reach more and more people.
I don’t consider myself a fashionista, I am just a normal twenty something girl that loves fashion and tries to wear things that complement her look. I know that money cat’t buy style, so I just try to make the best out of clothes that are on budget. All I have in my closet (clothes, bags or shoes) probably cost as much as one designer item I use in Polyvore sets, but that does not mean that I cannot look my best in each single item from my wardrobe.
I am so very proud that my first year on Polyvore meant three Top Sets that were featured by them, one of these sets being also my most liked set.
I am proud that I have that one set that did not get featured and yet is my third most liked set, not to mention that I got my inspiration from the actual outfit I was wearing that night and my favorite band, BTS.
One of the best moments was probably that moment I won second place in a Polyvore contest. And to think that I won with one set I made in a hurry and just to try out a new design for my future sets.
Yet the best moment was the one when I found out that I won first place in a group contest, winning at the same time a cute SheIn skirt. I had my eyes on that skirt and joined all the contests that featured it as a prize, so I was thrilled to actually win it.
I am not even sure if my three top sets were my best sets, I have a lot of other favorites. You can really see that my style has evolved since my first sets, back when I wasn’t even sure what the deal with Polyvore was.
It took me some time to find a nice design for my sets, yet I always find new ways to arrange all the elements. I am a perfectionist, so as soon as I finish the set I already get ideas on what could have looked better.
Since k-pop has been a big part of my life lately, some of my Polyvore sets were inspired by my favorite artists, comebacks and MVs. From BIGBANG, 4Minute and SHINee to EXO, GOT7 and BTS, k-pop was a great inspiration for a lot of sets and I still have more ideas in mind to get inspired by.
My favorite k-pop inspired by set is one inspired by GOT7’s leader, and I am kind of sorry that I did not keep using the design I picked for this particular set for other sets.
I feel like my set looked really pretty this way, so I might try this design for some of my future sets. I should have made this into a template, but I lost some of the elements and I didn’t find them after I finished and hit post on the set. I liked them back when I made the set, but I liked a looot of other items since then and it would be hard to find old liked items.
I feel the need to mention and add to this post one of my absolute favorite sets, set that I wish had reached Polyvores Top Set feature. It did not, but I still think of this set as one of my best, at least up until now.
I could probably say a lot more things about my first year on Polyvore or I could show you more sets. I wont, I feel like I made the best recap of all the beautiful moments and milestones I had on Polyvore until now.
I am really excited to see what the second year with Polyvore will bring, I just hope I will get a chance to inspire a lot of other people. I also hope that I will find inspiration in a lot of new places and that brands will understand what a cool way to promote their products Polyvore is 🙂
